How we can help
We always try to give a gentle introduction into general practice. We have been a training practice 10 times previously and understand what it is like learning more each time. The early days are lightly booked with time to sort out any initial niggles.
We go through an orientation package to show you how to use all the equipment (before you have to do it for real!)
We can advise on banks, accommodation, insurance, accountants etc.
You will ALWAYS get assistance or advice when you ask for it.
However you will not get UNASKED FOR INTERFERENCE and find me unexpectedly peering over you shoulder.
You will NOT be put under any time pressure - it is important that you work at your own pace and feel comfortable and happy.
You will be introduced to all the staff properly and will have met them on interview.
You will be helped with all administrative tasks.
You will always be paid promptly.
If you do get into a sticky situation I will help you out without you losing face or feeling embarrassed in front of patient or staff - with previous VGDP's we have often popped in to see something 'interesting'
As time moves on your needs will change and our help will be required in different ways so we adapt from taking you as a newly qualified graduate to a self-reliant, financially secure GDP.
